Many of the smaller changes to the text of the letter were made following several of yours\u2019 suggestions as a third party reading the letter from a fresh perspective. It has been very instructive for me to understand how you and likely others could understand the topics better with the mere addition of some small details, such as the time of year that something happened, or of some other details which gives greater context to the situation. Sometimes the author of a work, who has all of the details in their mind, forgets that the audience may not have all of those details. Your feedback has been appreciated so that when this gets to my father, he will hopefully have a letter in front of him which for any average reader leaves little doubt as to the context of a described situation and is clear enough for even a below-average reader to grasp its meaning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ever since I saw this in the theatre, I have wondered if I would feel like Tom Cruise’s character at that moment. When he says, “she” he is referring to his mother who died years before.

I feel like him before the song starts playing.<\/a><\/strong>

I do not feel like he feels after the song starts playing.

When I saw this as a teenager, I felt sooooooo bad for Demi’s character, that her father hated her.

I told myself that that only happened to other people, and not to me.

When I saw this again in the 2000s, I could not BELIEVE how similar this scene was to EXACTLY how I had felt about my life as it related to EVERYTHING in the scene that she describes about herself.

Except that I would never go and visit my dad’s wife in the hospital. Like Demi’s character did with her stepmonster.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
